ALPINE — "Once Upon a Christmas" will feature a tour of seven Alpine homes all dressed up for the Christmas season.

Guests will be given a Parade of Homes-style map and access to the beautiful homes decorated for the holidays.

The proceeds from the event go toward Signs of Hope International, a nonprofit organization based in Alpine. Signs of Hope International provides educational resources for deaf children in Africa.

The homes will showcase creative and local touches on the Christmas theme, including a living room dedicated to Christmas in Africa. Kitchens, family rooms, bedrooms and even bathrooms will be part of the show. Most of the homes will be decorated by the owners. A few will be sponsored by local stores.

Melissa Jones, one of the tour organizers, said this is to be the first of such tours.

"We hope to make it an annual event," Jones said. Paula McKinley, a friend of Curry and Melissa Jones said friends of the Jones' have opened up their private residences for the charity event.
