Trolley Square invites the community to join in creating a special angel tree in honor of the victims and families of last February's mall shootings.

The tree will be in the amphitheater through Dec. 18 for mall visitors and shoppers to decorate with angel ornaments. All angels placed on the tree will be given to the families before Christmas.

"The angel tree was created to honor those who have suffered due to this senseless tragedy and to offer the community a way to show their support for the victims and their families," said Dawn Katter, mall manager. "We hope the support and love of the community will provide them some comfort this holiday season."

People can place angel ornaments on the tree during regular mall shopping hours. In addition, people can make financial contributions to the families through the Trolley Square Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank.

Money donated to the Trolley Square Memorial Fund also will be given to the families before Christmas Day.
