CHENEY, Wash. A 19-4 run in the first half sparked by senior guard Jamelah Brown helped the Aggie women defeat Eastern Washington, 74-55, Sunday. It was USU's first win of the season. Brown netted a season-high 16 points.
The win snapped USU's five-game losing skid, improving to 1-5 overall. The victory is the first at Eastern Washington and was USU's first trip to Cheney since 1982. The Aggies also picked up their largest winning margin since Dec. 10, 2005, when USU defeated Utah Valley, 74-51.
Senior guard Taylor Richards tallied 14 points and a season-high four assists, while junior guard Danyelle Snelgro netted 11 points, four assists, one block and a steal. Sophomore center Nicole Johnson hit her first career 3-pointer and had a career-high seven points as sophomore guard LeeAnn Palo tied her career-high with five points and two assists.
