PLAYER OF THE GAME

Harvey Unga

Despite an ankle sprain, rushed for 161 yards and three TDs on 23 carries. He also added another TD on an 8-yard reception.

PLAY OF THE GAME

With BYU nursing a slim 13-10 lead and inside the SDSU 20 late in the first half, Max Hall leads Austin Collie with a perfect right-sideline pass. Making a one-handed grab for the 17-yard TD, Collie "single-handedly" helps BYU post a double-digit lead that would never fall below seven.

KEY CALL

BYU offensive coordinator Robert Anae grounds the Cougar attack in the second half, with 32 of BYU's 42 third- and fourth-quarter plays going on the ground. The result — nearly 200 yards rushing in the half, allowing QB Max Hall to add a complimentary 9-of-10 passing for 130 yards.

QUOTABLE

"I'd like to play the very best team possible, one that will be competitive in nature, as we'll be." — Bronco Mendenhall, BYU head coach

UP NEXT

The Cougars await a bid to the postseason, most likely a third straight trip to the Las Vegas Bowl. BYU is still technically alive for a BCS bowl berth, but that was a long shot entering Saturday, even before games like UCLA-USC and Arizona-Arizona State didn't go the Cougars' way.
