Salt Lake County sheriff's deputies Wednesday were looking for three men who may have committed a home invasion robbery at the wrong house.

About 10:45 p.m. Tuesday three men wearing ski masks and carrying guns forced their way into a house near 8100 West and 3500 South and made three adults lie face down on the floor, said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Paul Jaroscak.

The trio demanded money, but the victims also noted they seemed to be looking for something in a specific area of the residence but weren't finding what they expected, he said. The victims told investigators it appeared as though the suspects came to the realization at one point they were in the wrong place.

The group took a wallet and $18 cash from the victim.

Jaroscak said the three could face long prison sentences.
