In response to your "Transit's a priority" editorial, the state's legislators need to wake up to the reality that the wave of the future is not more asphalt, traffic congestion and smog. More roads are not going to accommodate the upswing in population. As gas prices go up, we're often told that Europe's gas prices are worse. The fact that cheap, effective, and quick mass transit options are available throughout Europe, eliminating need for automobiles, is rarely mentioned. Lawmakers should jump on this wave of the future.
