On Saturday, Nov. 24, I read the article about Brigham Young University eliminating its bachelor's degree in social work. I'm glad to learn that this degree is no longer needed. \After all, there are no social problems of any kind. Everyone in the world is well-adjusted, all families are happy, crime is non-existent, everyone enjoys perfect health and there are no disabled people. Come on, BYU. Get real!

There are numerous social problems in the world today that require the services of qualified social workers. And the way things are going in the world, the need for such people will continue to increase greatly. We have a handicapped son, and social workers assigned to us have gone the extra two or three miles in helping us get the funding, services and support we need.

What is it with BYU?
