OREM — The largest automotive dealership in Utah County may be growing.

The Brent Brown Automotive Group has issued a letter of intent to purchase Premier Ford, Lincoln, Mercury of Orem that sits just south of Utah Valley State College's Brent Brown Ball Park.

"Our dealerships currently sell approximately 600 to 700 new and used cars and trucks each month in Utah County," Brown said. "We anticipate that the addition of the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury franchises will greatly add to that number."

Brown also said an anticipated higher volume of sales could translate into more customer savings.

As of Tuesday night, Ford owners had yet responded to the letter of intent.

The idea came to Brown two weeks ago; he's blazed through the offering process, eager to get a grip on what he calls the "fourth element."

Brown dealerships currently dominate Utah County's other three major elements in the full-size truck arena: Chevrolet, Dodge and Toyota. Now, depending on Ford's approval, he could take charge of the Ford truck market as well.

During several meetings at each of his dealerships, Brown assured employees of their job security.

Brown also spoke to Ford employees, who he says he "really needs," about keeping their jobs, and he called their current pay "very much intact."
