I have been in shock almost all day because of the editorial chosen for Letter of the Month, "Younger Voters Encouraged" Nov. 25 by Bonnie Soelberg.

I am a young mother, closer to the ages of 20-somethings than to the ages of the elderly. Yet on any given day I would spend my time and surround myself with the middle-aged and elderly. Why? Because of their experience and their vision.

Here is a news flash to Soelberg: "Grandpa and his cronies," aka the "greatest generation," fought for the freedoms you and other 20-somethings so enjoy. Keep the elderly at the booths! We need your intelligence and perspective!

As for you 18 year-olds? Get yourselves a good education, then think about voting.
