=Ahead of the approaching Middle East conference scheduled to be held in Annapolis, Md., fully 67 percent of Americans say they believe a way can be found for the state of Israel to exist so that the rights and needs of the Palestinian people are taken care of, according to a May 2007 survey. Majorities or pluralities in Western Europe and Canada take the same position, but the picture is quite different among Muslim-dominated countries in the Middle East.
