MICHAEL ALISA, Timpview, football: The Thunderbirds romped to back-to-back 4A state titles last week, and this senior captain helped lead the way.

From his linebacker position, Alisa helped clog the middle in a dominant 50-7 win over previously unbeaten Pine View.

Timpview's defense was simply outstanding against the talented Panthers. The T-Birds held Pine View to just nine first downs, less than three yards per play and forced five turnovers.

Against Pine View, Alisa finished with two tackles. Going the other way, the back-up running back carried the ball two times for 35 yards.

In four playoff games, Timpview's defense allowed just 27 points.

LEXI PECK, Riverton, volleyball: This senior was asked to learn a new position in her final high school season and did it so well, she helped her team to a region title.

"I moved her to libero," said Silverwolves head coach Trudy Pecorelli. "She took on the roll and made it her own. She is constantly striving to improve her game and her work in the classroom."

This Academic All-State winner was the anchor of the team's defense and it's emotional spark-plug as well.

"Lexi truly cares about her teammates and their success," Pecorelli said. "She gives you 110 percent in everything she does."
