COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — BYU, Air Force, TCU and San Diego State players won Mountain West Conference player of the week honors on Monday.

Air Force tailback Jim Ollis and BYU quarterback Max Hall shared the award on offense. TCU defensive end Chase Ortiz won the defense award and San Diego State punter Michael Hughes won the special teams honor.

Ollis ran for a career-high 163 yards on 15 carries and scored two touchdowns in Air Force's 55-23 victory over San Diego State. He scored on runs of 54 and 31 yards, and seven of his carries went for first downs.

Hall completed 26 of 37 passing attempts for 331 yards and three touchdowns in BYU's 35-10 victory at Wyoming, despite sitting out most of the fourth quarter after the Cougars reached 35 points. He reached 3,121 passing yards for the season during the game.

Ortiz had seven tackles, five of them solo, in TCU's 34-10 victory over UNLV. He had three tackles for loss, including two sacks, and forced two fumbles and recovered one. Ortiz became the MWC career leader in tackles for loss with 19.5. He has 19 sacks for the year, just shy of the conference record of 19.5.

Hughes tied a 24-year-old San Diego State record by averaging 54.8 yards per punt in the Aztecs' loss at Air Force. He had punts of 47, 64, 61 and 47 yards, two of which were downed inside the 20-yard line, and allowed just 41 return yards.
