WEST VALLEY CITY — A man was shot in the leg through a closed door about 3 a.m. Sunday.

The man and shooter were at a house party near 3900 South and 3800 West when the shooting occurred. They had been at a West Valley nightclub earlier, police said.

At the house, the two men got into an argument, according to West Valley Police Sgt. Chad Evans. The shooter was asked to leave. He left, and the front door was closed.

The shooter then pulled out a gun and fired shots through the door, hitting the victim in the leg. Evans did not know how many shots were fired nor how many times the victim was hit.

The victim was hospitalized in serious condition with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooter left in what witnesses believe was a red Dodge pickup truck. He is still at large.

Police are asking anyone with information on the shooter's identity or whereabouts to call 840-4000.
