PROVO — Brigham Young has cracked The Associated Press Top 25 football poll for the first time since last season.

The Cougars, 8-2, are No. 23 this week. They were No. 12 at the end of the 2006 season.

BYU defeated Wyoming, 35-10, to remain unbeaten in the Mountain West Conference and clinch at least a share of the league championship.

Next up this week: Utah, 8-3. The Utes and Cougars have each won seven games in a row.

Utah received four votes in the latest AP poll, far short of Texas Tech, which got 89, the most among unranked teams.
