BOZMAN, Mont., — The Weber State volleyball team ended the regular season with a 3-0 sweep of Montana State Saturday night in Bozeman, Montana. The Wildcats won the match 30-23, 30-21, 30-25 to finish the regular season with a 15-12 overall record and an 11-5 conference record, their most conference wins since the 1988 season.

The 'Cats now advance to the Big Sky Tournament for the third-straight season. Weber State will go into the tournament as the fourth seed and will take on Northern Colorado in the first round, which will begin Friday in Sacramento.

Saturday night the 'Cats handed Montana State their 18th straight loss to end their season at 1-27 overall and 0-16 in Big Sky action. Weber State trailed 5-3 early in game one but then went on a 9-4 run and never looked back in that game. They used a 13-5 run in game two to break that game open and won game three to sweep the Bobcats in back-to-back matches for the first time since 1993.

"We took care of business tonight and now hope to carry that momentum into next week," said WSU head coach Al Givens. "We really executed well as a team tonight and did what we needed to do to win. Now we want to keep it going for the conference tournament."

The Wildcats were led by junior Leah Burmeister, who finished with a season-high 14 kills in the match. Micah Lines posted her 19th double-double of the year, finishing with 12 kills and 11 digs. Brittney Bisaillon added 11 kills and seven blocks and Chelsea Bair posted a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs. Caitlyn Anderson posted a match-high 16 digs and now has 446 on the season, the third most digs in WSU single-season history.

The 'Cats have now won six of their last seven matches heading into the conference tournament. WSU will take on Northern Colorado Friday at 12:30 p.m. Mountain time in Sacramento in the first round of the tournament.
