CEDAR CITY — Southern Utah men's basketball fell to the Titans of Cal-State Fullerton 78-63 on Saturday night. With the win, the Titans improved to 3-0 while the Thunderbirds drop to 1-2.

Southern Utah put the first points on the scoreboard as Geoff Payne connected on the second of a two-shot foul to give the Thunderbirds the 1-0 lead. Six minutes later, Southern Utah found itself down 17-6 following a 17-5 run by the visitors.

Geoff Payne paced the Thunderbirds with a team-high 15 points and was joined by Dave Marek (12) and Tate Sorenson (11) in double figures. Sorenson added a game-high eight rebounds as the Thunderbirds out rebounded the Titans 42-28.

Southern Utah will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 20 when the Thunderbirds host Cal-Poly. Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
