I used to read Scott Pierce's television column, but I don't anymore. "Law & Order" and others of that ilk have become so sickenly violent. Comedies have become demeaning, inane or full of double-entendre, ugly language. "News" and magazine TV are sensation. Reality shows are often obviously staged. I've nearly broken the TV habit, except for PBS.

Do you suppose the Writers Guild will catch on to the fact they're playing to an increasingly empty house?
