OREM — No one was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Orem Wednesday morning.

Around 11 a.m. a sedan traveling east was stopped at the intersection of 800 East and University Parkway, waiting to turn left.

But the driver became impatient and tried to make a U-turn to go west, said Orem Police Lt. Doug Edwards.

The driver apparently didn't see a truck coming west and the two collided, sending the truck onto the grass near Goodwood Barbecue Co.

Orem police and Utah Highway Patrol officials responded and blocked off several lanes of traffic to get the man out of the sedan and cleared the car off the road.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, Edwards said.
