Salt Lake NPR affiliate KCPW is announcing the launch of new programming for its AM 1010 signal, BBC 24-7.

Beginning in January, BBC 24-7 will be broadcast on AM offering programming from the British Broadcasting Corp. eight hours a day, mostly overnight. The service change is being made in an effort to create additional revenue for the station.

The station will have a short fund drive in early December to help cover startup costs. Currently, KCPW is a simulcast on 88.3 FM with its 1010 AM signal. KCPW broadcasts from Library Square in downtown Salt Lake City, with its sister station KPCW broadcasting in Park City.
