LAYTON — The 11th annual Evergreen Celebration of Hope, which benefits the Safe Harbor Domestic Violence Shelter, is set for today and Tuesday at the Davis Conference Center.

The celebration is the shelter's major fund-raiser for the year.

Today's events, which start at 5 p.m., include live entertainment, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and decorated Christmas trees for sale.

Tuesday's events begin at 7 p.m. with a fund-raising dinner, which costs $40 a plate or $750 for a table of 10, and silent and live auctions for 45 decorated Christmas trees.

Safe Harbor is a nonprofit organization that provides shelter, support, counseling, education and outreach services for victims of rape and domestic violence.

The shelter and its Rape Crisis Center offer a free weekly group that focuses on recovery and advocacy for rape victims. These classes include topics such as assertiveness verses aggression, coping skills, conflict resolution, and choices.
