As a current student at Dixie State I know first-hand that the students need more resources available. Affiliation with the University of Utah would allow that to happen. The current budget of Dixie State is less than the budget of Snow College.

Snow has fewer students and no bachelor's degrees. Now tell me how that makes sense? The name of the school is not even close to being the most relevant aspect of this affiliation. The most important aspect is how it helps or hurts the students get an education.

Decisionmakers should be thinking about how the students will benefit from this, and not on what the college will be called. Dixie will always be a part of this community and a part of the school. But the name doesn't make the students who attend better or worse.

Students need this change. If we lose this opportunity, it will take more than 20 years to make up for it.
