I just wanted to give a little clarification on the history of the Osmond Brothers. My father, Val Hicks, is the man who taught the original Osmond Brothers, Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay, how to sing barbershop harmony. Their mother, Olive, approached him in February 1959 after hearing one of his quartets perform and asked him to teach her boys. After he taught and coached the brothers, he arranged through Dapper Dan baritone Fred Frank to have them sing along with the Dapper Dans, a barbershop quartet, at Disneyland. My father passed away in 2004. He was a very talented, well-known and respected man in the barbershop music community and wrote and arranged hundreds of songs.
