A man riding a scooter was critically injured Wednesday morning after being hit by an SUV that police said shouldn't have been on the road.
Just before 10:30 a.m., a 47-year-old man was traveling on 4100 South on a moped when an SUV made a left turn onto 4100 West right in front of him.
The man, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a local hospital with two broken legs and head injuries, said West Valley Police Capt. Tom McLachlan.
The 29-year-old woman driving the SUV was cited for failing to yield the right of way, no insurance and improper vehicle registration.
