A 29-year-old man accused of beating a woman and stealing her purse near Temple Square was charged in 3rd District Court on Tuesday with second-degree felony aggravated robbery.

Travis Roger Tully of Salt Lake City allegedly attacked the woman while she was using an ATM at Key Bank on Friday. He hit her in the face several times and stole her purse, according to documents filed in court on Tuesday.

Tully then ran from the scene, but he was caught by security guards from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was arrested and is being held in the Salt Lake County Jail on $10,000 bail.

If convicted of the second-degree felony, Tully could spend between one and 15 years in prison.
