This weekend Bill Clinton visited Utah to raise funds for his wife's campaign for the presidency. Barack Obama and John Edwards have made campaigning and fund-raising stops in Utah, but Hillary Clinton's fund-raiser featured only her husband.

She seems to expect people to support her simply because she is Bill Clinton's wife or because she is a woman. This past week she did all professional women a disservice with her, "I was picked on because I'm the only girl" defense following the Oct. 30 debate.

The bottom line? I personally expect more substance from my political candidates. And I certainly expect a woman as prominent as Sen. Clinton to conduct herself in a manner that doesn't set my entire generation back 20 years.
