My erstwhile friend, Brian David Mitchell, may be forced — by the ruling of a judge — to receive psychotropic drugs in order to render him "competent" to stand trial. This threat has been hanging over him for at least four years now. And I feel exactly the same today as I did the first time I heard of this possibility. Forcing anyone to receive medication is police-state mentality. If the alternative is for taxpayers to keep Brian at the state mental hospital for the rest of his life, that is a small price to pay to do the right thing.
