BOISE — The Idaho Steelheads on Wednesday avenged last weekend's losses, with a 6-1 victory over the Grizzlies.

The Steelheads jumped to a 1-0 lead just over 11 minutes into the first period. Lance Galbraith deflected a shot from Marty Flichel to beat Mike Mole on the 5-on-3 power play.

Utah came out strong in the second period, tying the score 2:29 into the period on a power-play goal by Scott Ford, assisted by Scott Burt and Jeff Dwyer.

The Steelheads finished the period with three goals, two on power plays, 45 second apart. Idaho added two more in the third period to complete the 6-1 victory.

Before the game, Grizzlies coach Jason Christie announced that forward Trevor Smith had been assigned to Utah from AHL Bridgeport.

The Grizzlies travel to Las Vegas for 8:05 p.m. games Friday and Saturday at the Orleans Arena.

Utah returns home Nov. 9 and 10 to host Victoria at the E-Center.
