VOLLEYBALL: The Utah women's volleyball team fell to Utah State, 3-1, in a non-conference match on Tuesday.

Kathryn Haynie led Utah (10-12) with 15 kills on the night while Kate Robison had a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs, hitting a team-high .458. Whitney Webb recorded 12 kills while Lori Baird tallied eight kills and six blocks.


TENNIS: The BYU men's tennis team travels this week to the So Cal Intercollegiate Championship in Los Angeles. Five Cougars will begin competition today in the qualifying singles draw, including sophomore Cassidy Mears and freshman Daniel Hwang.

WOMEN'S GOLF: The BYU women's golf team held onto their 11th-place position during the second round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, finishing the day 18 over par.

Natalia Jimenez led the Cougars again, finishing the day 2 over par and is currently tied for 15th place on the individual leader board.

Denver leads the 18-team field, holding a five-stroke lead over the second-place Arizona.

SOCCER: The No. 19 BYU women's soccer team will play its last regular season match of the season at UNLV Friday with the Mountain West Conference regular season championship on the line.

Southern Utah

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Southern Utah begins its exhibition season as the Thunderbirds host Dixie State on Thursday and Utah Pride on Nov. 6. Both games tip off at 7 p.m. and are the only exhibition contests before SUU opens its regular season on Nov. 9 against Concordia.


MEN'S BASKETBALL: Westminster begins the basketball season this weekend with two games in Las Vegas. On Friday the Griffins take on Vanguard University, then on Saturday, Westminster will battle The Master's College. Both games will be played at Del Sol High School.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Westminster women's basketball team opens the 2007-08 season with two games in Oakland, Calif. Friday the Griffins take on Biola University in the Holy Names tournament. The game tips off at 7 p.m. (MDT).

Utah State

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Utah State will host Utah Pride in women's basketball exhibition action today at 5 p.m. at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

This will be the Aggies' first exhibition game of the year and is a doubleheader with the men's team, which will host EA Sports, at approximately 7 p.m.
