Juan Diego High School was put on lockdown Tuesday after a school employee saw what appeared to be a juvenile with a gun.
Just before noon, a boy with a gun was spotted on school property, 300 East 11800 South. The school was put on lockdown for about an hour until police were eventually able to find three juveniles, all about 14 years old, at a house in a nearby neighborhood, said Draper police Sgt. Gerry Allred.
The boys were reportedly playing a game with Air Soft guns, he said. Air Soft guns shoot rubber BB's but have the appearance of being a real firearm.
Investigators were still trying to determine Tuesday whether the boys were intentionally trying to scare anyone at the school. Allred said whether the scare was intentional or not, the juveniles faced several possible misdemeanor charges.
