VOLLEYBALL: Utah middle hitter Lori Baird was named Mountain West Conference co-volleyball player of the week for her performances against Utah Valley, Wyoming and Air Force.

Baird led Utah to a 3-0 record, including a 2-0 mark in conference play with wins over Wyoming and Air Force. On the week, Baird averaged 3.44 kills, 2.56 blocks, 0.44 digs, 0.44 service aces and 5.39 points per game with a .569 hitting percentage.

The Utes snapped a three-match losing streak by winning three in a row, all 3-0 sweeps, over Utah Valley, Wyoming and Air Force this past week.

Utah takes its three-match winning streak on the road this week to face Utah State today, TCU on Friday and New Mexico on Saturday.

Utah is 39-23 all-time against Utah State with a 13-10 record in Logan. Overall, USU has lost three straight matches to the Utes.

BYU

SOCCER: BYU freshman Kassidy Christensen was named Mountain West Conference co-offensive player of the week Monday.

Christensen earned the honors by scoring game-winning goals in her first two starts of her career at Wyoming and at home against New Mexico in 1-0 wins last week. She has recorded three game-winners and four total goals in the last three games.

Utah State

SOCCER: Abby Hunt has been named the WAC offensive player of the week. Hunt led Utah State to two league victories last weekend, including a thrilling 3-2 win against previously undefeated Hawaii and a 4-0 route of San Jose State. Hunt scored two goals in the match against the Wahine, the first on a penalty kick early in the match, and then netted the game-winning goal in the 76th minute to seal the victory.
