ST. GEORGE — A man who walked into the lobby of the Purgatory Jail and confessed to sexually abusing two girls has been sentenced to serve up to life in prison.

Fifth District Court records said that Nestor Jesus Cabada, 37, was sentenced on Oct. 24 to serve 10 years-to-life in prison for one count of sodomy on a child, a first-degree felony. Cabada, 37, walked into the lobby of the Purgatory Jail in November 2006, asking to speak to someone immediately.

When a deputy spoke to him, Cabada began confessing to sexually abusing two girls. He said his Jehovah's Witness clergy urged him to do it, to "get right with God."
