DRAPER The Utah National Guard, federal and local veterans organizations and state health agencies will combine their efforts and resources to host a veterans benefits symposium on the following dates with times and locations as noted:
• Wednesday, Nov. 28, 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m., Southern Utah University, Sharwan Smith Theater, Cedar City.
• Thursday, Nov. 29, 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m., Dixie State College, Gardner Hall, St. George.
The afternoon session is open to all who are interested, but the focus will be on providing information to counselors, law enforcement officers and staff, clergy, educators and community leaders. The evening session is also open to all but is primarily for veterans and their families.
Featured speakers, their titles and topics are: Bart Davis, National Guard transition assistance adviser, "Resources for Veterans"; Steven Allen, coordinator, PTSD clinical team, Salt Lake VA, "Working With Veterans"; Ray Ross, team leader, Salt Lake vet centers, "Vet Center Resources." The Utah State Department of Veterans Affairs also will present information.
