Southern Utah plays its second Great West Football Conference opponent in a row as the Thunderbirds take on North Dakota State today in Fargo.
The Bison are ranked No. 1 in the coaches poll and No. 2 in the writers' poll and will be the sixth ranked team the Thunderbirds have met this season.
The Thunderbirds (0-7, 0-1 GWFC) fell 42-21 last weekend to UC Davis. Meanwhile, North Dakota State (7-0, 1-0 GWFC) is coming off a huge road upset of Big 10 foe Minnesota last week in Minneapolis. The Bison claimed a convincing win over the Gophers, rolling up 585 yards of offense while holding Minnesota to just 307. NDSU running back Tyler Roehl carried 22 times for a GWFC-record 263 rushing yards while quarterback Steve Walker completed 20-of-25 passes for 191 yards and a pair of scores without an interception.
The win was NDSU's second this season over a FBS team, following a 44-14 steamrolling of Central Michigan, Sept. 22.
Following today's game the T-birds' home finale is Nov. 3 against Cal Poly followed by their final league contest Nov. 10 at South Dakota State. They close out the season Nov. 17 at Northern Illinois.
