Accused killer James William Tolbert was arrested about 8:45 p.m. Thursday in Memory Grove, at 135 E. North Temple.

Tolbert was charged in 3rd District Court on Wednesday with the Oct. 9 slaying of Deseret Morning News employee Ann Poulson.

Poulson was found dead in her home; police determined she had been strangled with a belt.

Tolbert has been on the run since the homicide occurred. A $1 million warrant was issued for his arrest. In addition, local law enforcement enlisted the help of the media and the public in finding him.

Few details about his capture in the heart of downtown were available Thursday.
