Parry's Power Guide: Northridge by 5

All-time series: First meeting

This is one of the most intriguing games of any first-round game in the state.

Northridge survived a treacherous region slate to claim Region 1's No. 2 seed and the right to host a first-round game. The Knights' reward, however, is a showdown with one of the most frightening offenses in the state.

Led by quarterback Christian Stewart, who's averaging over 300 passing yards and four TDs per game, the T-Wolves average 37.7 points per game this year and it's hard to imagine them not posting in the upper 20s in the playoffs.

Unfortunately for Timpanogos, it's defense is a liability. In addition to winning some high-scoring games, it lost a pair of shootouts this year, a 49-35 loss to Layton and a 62-46 loss to American Fork.

With a strong offense and defense, Northridge is built like a team that can win this first-round game one of two ways. It can either slow down the Wolves' offense, or simply outscore them. The Knights have scored 30 or more points six times this year, and has scored less than 21 just once.

This game features two of the best quarterback-receiver tandems in the state. Stewart and Grant Jimenze have hooked for 12 touchdowns, while Northridge's Braden Mitchell and Blake Hansen have connected nine times.
