OREM — A man is being held in the Utah County Jail on $10,000 cash-only bail after being arrested for the 28th time in 11 years.

Travis John Wright, 37, of Springville was arrested Thursday in Orem. A woman called police to report that a man had nearly hit her in a parking lot near 1700 N. State, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in 4th District Court.

The man was soon stopped by a police officer for making an improper turn.

The officer found the man had a restricted license for alcohol-related offenses. Police also said that the man's breath-alcohol concentration was .161, twice the limit of .08.

The man has had three prior driving-under-the-influence arrests in the last 10 years, which means that according to state law he can be booked into jail for investigation of a felony DUI. He was also on probation for DUI.

He will appear before a judge for the first time Friday at 8:30 a.m.
