TAYLORSVILLE Police are looking for a man they say tried to abduct a 13-year-old girl near Eisenhower Junior High on Wednesday.
Police said the girl was walking home from school near 1900 W. Kirkham Way, when she noticed a "suspicious black truck driving slowly past her."
"The suspect got out of the truck and attempted to talk her into going with him. At one point the suspect grabbed her arm," Taylorsville Police Sgt. Rosie Rivera said in a statement Thursday. "The female was able to break away from his grip and run into the house. The suspect then went to the front door and knocked a few times. With no response he then left the area."
Rivera said the girl told her mother, but neither the school nor police were notified until Thursday. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, about 25-30 years old, 5-foot-9, thin, with wavy black hair, sideburns and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and a black zip-up hoodie with gray lettering on the front.
The black truck he was driving was described as having a bug shield on the front, pulling a flatbed trailer.
