The International Association of Forensic Nurses will meet in Salt Lake City from Wednesday through Saturday for its 15th annual Scientific Assembly.

IAFN represents more than 3,100 nurses worldwide who provide care to victims of interpersonal violence, trauma and disasters. Forensic nurses can have many roles, including sexual-assault nurse examiners, death investigators and legal nurse consultants. The settings in which they work range from forensic psychiatric facilities to domestic-violence shelters.

Conference speakers include Victor Vieth, who will talk about ending child abuse, and Larry Cohen of the Prevention Institute, who will discuss primary prevention of violence against women.
