Laura Ingraham, national talk-show host and best-selling author, will be in Murray on Saturday to promote her new book, "Power to the People" (Regnery, $27.95). Her show is heard locally on KLO (AM-1430), weekdays from 7-11 a.m.
Ingraham will visit the Barnes & Noble store at 5249 S. State at 11 a.m to mingle with fans and sign copies of her book.
A breast cancer survivor, Ingraham's book was No. 1 last week on the New York Times best-seller list. Salt Lake City is one of 26 areas on her nationwide bus tour, as she calls the American people to arms concerning what she terms the decay of society.
Ingraham attacks U.S. culture that she believes has become "pornified." She is known for pulling no punches on the airwaves, and her book takes the same tone.
Possibly the nation's No. 1 political female radio host, and No. 10 host overall, according to Talkers Magazine, Ingraham's radio show is now heard on 340 stations. She launched the radio show in April 2001.
She also recently converted to Catholicism, which is addressed in the book.Ingraham previously worked as a commentator for CBS-TV and hosted the MSNBC program "Watch It!" She has also written "The Hillary Trap: Looking for Power in All the Wrong Places" (2002) and "Shut Up & Sing" (2003).
