PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A man with a history of bank robbery was charged with two counts of murder in the slayings of two armored car guards, police said.

Mustafi Ali, 34, of Philadelphia gave a statement to authorities and appeared to have acted alone, homicide detective Joe McDermott said Saturday.

Ali had been brought in for questioning Friday afternoon and was charged late Friday or early Saturday, police said.

The slayings occurred Thursday while the guards were servicing an ATM, police said.
