CROSS COUNTRY: For the first time this season the Weber State men's cross country team is nationally ranked. The Wildcats are 26th in the latest poll released Tuesday by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
SOCCER: BYU junior forward Katie Larkin and New Mexico freshman forward Alexis Ball have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week.
GOLF: The third round of the Husky Invitational was cancelled due to rain Tuesday, leaving the BYU men's golf team in 10th place with freshman Adam Tebbs heading the charge for the Cougars tied for 20th.
GOLF: Southern Utah's golf team saved its best for last Sunday as the Thunderbirds fired their lowest round of the Shootout at Angel Park in Las Vegas to finish fourth, behind UNLV's A and B teams and Cal State Northridge. Senior Eric Nilsson shot a final-round 70 to lead the Thunderbirds with an 11th-place finish at 1-over-par 214, while junior Matt McArthur finished 20th at 217. Sophomore Tai Reynolds (220) finish in a tie with fellow sophomore Thomas Camaione in 32nd place.
CROSS COUNTRY: Southern Utah senior Mark Currell was named the Summit League Cross Country Athlete of the Week after his performance at the UC Riverside Invitational over the weekend. He set a record in the 8K race.
Currell garnered the conference honor for his first-place performance at the meet.
