Jeffrey Bader will present a lecture titled "The Rise of China: What It Means for the United States" at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Vieve Gore Concert Hall in the Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory at Westminster College.

The presentation is part of the 2007-08 American Express Weldon J. Taylor Executive Lecture Series. It is being presented in partnership with the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy's Ambassador John Price and Marcia Price World Affairs Lecture Series.

Bader is director of the China Initiative and senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. With a 27-year career as a foreign service officer, Bader served in China, Hong King, Taiwan, Namibia, Zambia, Congo and the United States Mission to the United Nations.

Each lecture is free and open to the public.
