The 21st annual Art City Days boasts a carnival; track, tennis and rodeo competitions; fireworks; a mountain man rendezvous; and several crafts shows.
The celebration runs through June 11. Here are events scheduled for the rest of the week:Daily
The Lions Club will sponsor a breakfast at the Civic Center from 6 to 11 a.m., $2.50 for adults, $1.50 for children.
A carnival will be held on the Civic Center lawn every day through June 11.
A mountain man rendezvous will be held at Jolley Ranch, up Hobble Creek Canyon June 10-12. Adults may register for $7, children younger than 14 for $2.50. Contact Karl Barton at 489-5517 for more information.
The Utah Valley Artist's Guild will sponsor a free art show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A free arts, crafts and doll show will be held from noon to 6 p.m. at Springville Middle School.
The Springville Art Museum will host a quilt show from noon to 4 p.m., Tales in a Teepee from 1 to 5 p.m., and a photography show from 2 to 5 p.m. All three events are free.
Free tours of historic homes will begin on the east side of the art museum at 12:30, 2 and 3 p.m. The art museum will host a flower show from 1 to 5 p.m. Children's art activities will be organized at the art museum. The cost and time will be announced.
The Springville Playhouse will present "Kiss of Make-up" at 7 p.m. each night through June 10 in the library theater. Tickets are $3 for general admission, $2.50 for senior citizens.
The Art City Community Theater will present "Bye Bye Birdie" at 7:30 p.m. in the Springville High School auditorium. Tickets will be $4 for general admission, $3.50 for senior citizens, $15 for families. A 2 p.m. matinee will be offered on June 11, and the play also will be performed June 13, 17, 18 and 20.
A children's parade will begin at Grant School at 10 a.m.
A barbecue will be held at 6 p.m. in Memorial Park. Costs will be announced. It will be followed by a free bluegrass concert.
A youth dance will be held on the junior high tennis court beginning at 9 p.m. The fee will be $1 per person.
The Art City road race will begin at 8 a.m. at Springville High. Registration for the 5-kilometer race will be $6.
The Grand Parade will begin on Main Street at 10 a.m.
An antique car show will be held on the south side of the City Center from noon to 5 p.m.
The Little Buckaroo Rodeo will be held on the rodeo grounds at 6 p.m. Costs will be $1 per person or $5 per family.
Fireworks will be set off at Springville High School after dark. There is no charge to attend.
