The Pioneer Craft House kicks off its 41st summer on Saturday with a day of arts, crafts, food, games and entertainment. The Summer Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Craft House, 3271 S. Fifth East.
The craft school begins its summer program for children and teenagers, ages 6 to 18, on June 13. The six-week program is also sponsored by the Salt Lake County Library System and Granite Community Education.The 15 classes offered include drawing, creative drama, puppets, pottery, mountain men crafts, mask making, stitchery, leather and wood carving. Registration begins June 13 at 8 a.m. The materials fee for each class is $5. For more information, call 481-7131.
Pioneer Craft House will close its summer program on July 27 with an open house and an exhibit of children's crafts, plus a puppet show, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Puppet shows will also be presented every Wednesday beginning June 22, at 11:30 a.m., by Melody Johnson and the Utah Guild of Puppeteers.
