Vandals caused more than $11,000 worth of damage to automobiles Friday morning, according to West Valley City Police Sgt. Randy Pond.
He said his department is investigating about 75 cases of automobile car windows being broken by either rocks or pellet guns shortly after midnight Friday morning up until about 2:30 a.m. "And the reports are still coming in," he said Friday night.Witnesses told police they followed the vandals' car, described as a silver-colored sedan, possibly with an Arizona license plate, from West Valley City to South Salt Lake, where the vehicle sped away from them.
Witnesses said several people were inside.
Pond said at least 100 incidents of vandalism may be listed when all the reports are counted, and damage may reach $15,000.
