The Army said Friday it will not use Tooele Army Depot or any other Utah base to destroy intermediate range missiles under the INF Treaty.

Destruction of the Pershing I and II ballistic missiles and ground-launched cruise missiles will be carried out at Pueblo, Colo., and Marshall, Texas. The Texas site is Longhorn Ammunition Depot, operated under contract by the Morton Thiokol Co.

Rep. Jim Hansen, R-Utah, said the selection was confirmed after environmental checks.
