The Senate Appropriations Committee has cleared for Senate action the Reagan Administration's budget requests for Utah water projects. The Committee approved $151 million for the Bonneville Unit of the Central Utah Project for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1. The Committee also voted $7.8 million for the Little Dell flood control project in Salt Lake County.
The panel voted to accept language offered by Sen. Jake Garn, R-Utah, to limit administrative expenses in any new CUP authorization to $17 million.CUP work next year will include continued construction of the Jordanelle Dam, the Syar Tunnel and Diamond Fork pipeline, and fish and wildlife mitigation facilities.
The Committee added a resolution supporting the CUP reauthorization.
