An Ogden man is being held in Weber County jail in the shooting death of another man in a local bar.

Joe Angel Morales, also known as Ray Perez, 31, was arraigned on a second-degree murder charge Wednesday before 3rd Circuit Judge Brent West. A preliminary hearing was set for June 17.Morales is accused of shooting Raul Murillo, 47, Ogden, Tuesday night at Ponchos, a bar on lower 25th Street. Witnesses said that the victim was drinking at the bar when another man walked in and both men started talking by the pool table. The second man pulled out a gun and fired three shots at Murillo as the victim walked away. Murillo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The assailant ran from the bar. Morales was arrested a short time later without incident at the Union Pacific Railroad yard.

Morales is being held in the Weber County Jail on $10,000 bond.
