CLEARFIELD — The Clearfield Community Services Department will hold an open house for residents to learn more about the second phase of the city's Canal Trail.

Tracy Heun, director of the city's community services department, said the open house will allow residents to see how the second phase of the trail is being designed. Heun expects to bid out the construction of the project this fall, and construction could be completed this year.

When completed, the paved trail for walking, jogging and biking will be about 3 miles long.

The first part of the trail runs from University Park Boulevard and follows the canal to state Route 193. Phase 2 picks up at S.R. 193 and goes to 650 North in Clearfield.

The open house will be held Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall, 55 S. State. For more information, call the city's Community Services Department at 525-2790.
