A series of three meetings to present updated information and receive public comment on the West Valley City master plan will be held later this month.
All the meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. Meeting dates and places, planning districts and areas they encompass are:-June 21, Redwood Multipurpose Center, located just east of Redwood Road at 31st South. For people who live in Districts 1 and 2, east of I-215.
-June 22, Hunter Junior High School, 3785 S. 6141 West. For residents in Districts 5 and 6, located west of 48th West.
-June 23, Granger High School, 3690 S. 36th West. For residents in Districts 3 and 4, between 48th West and I-215.
John Janson, the city's long-range planning supervisor, said representatives of the economic development division will discuss past impacts of citizen comment on the master plan and current division emphases, including results of a business patronage survey and a study on 35th South.
A slide show - showing changes occurring in the city, the impact of new city ordinances and issues related to residential landscaping and existing businesses - will be shown.
Results of an earthquake study conducted during the past two years by the Community Development Department will be presented. Brochures designed to help homeowners and businesses prepare for earthquakes will be distributed.
Information will also be presented on the Hercules annexation area.
Janson said a series of issues related to each planning district's land use, ranging from potential land use changes to construction projects and land purchases at parks and transportation problems, will be discussed at the meetings.
